A diagnostic laboratory is prime requirement of any hospital, with this perspective the Department of Pathology, BMHRC was started in July 2000. Located in the research wing of the hospital it now provides a full spectrum of diagnostic facilities to commensurate with a high standard of comprehensive medical care.

Now provides an entire range of investigation facilities in Haematology, Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Histopathology, Cytology and Immunohistochemistry. This is in addition to the facilities offered by the Department of Microbiology and Transfusion Medicine.

Round the clock services are provided in order to give optimal results. Rapid diagnosis is aided by a complete range of automated instruments. There are facilities for frozen section as well, thus facilitating rapid therapeutic intervention in patients. A wide range of investigations necessary for the functioning of all the superspeciality department of the hospital are carried out.

There is stringent control over the quality of procedures.
